Had a brilliant holiday based at your delightful apartment. The views were amazing. We visited many places, including St Ives by train from Falmouth Docks station. Although we had to change trains twice, it was an easy & enjoyable way to get to such a lovely place. Many thanks for making our stay so comfortable with all the nice Puffins' touches. We will be talking to our friends and family about this stay for a long time to come. Roger & Joyce, Lowestoft
6 - 20 August 2016
What a beautiful place to spend our 30th (Pearl) wedding anniversary. We leave taking with us wonderful memories of sun, sea, flowers, views and kindly helpful Cornish people. Thank you Mary for making it possible to stay in this excellent 'Puffins' accommodation and for the beautiful roses and card on our special day. We do hope to return one day and until then we wish you both all the very best.
30 July - 6 August 2016
We had a wonderful week at Puffins in Falmouth. The views are amazing and we have enjoyed sitting out on the terrace and just watching the boats pass by. We had a lovely visit to St Michaels Mount and Botallack and Truro (many more places also)We had a brilliant guided tour of Falmouth Lifeboat also. We have loved our stay at Puffins and hope to return soon!
9 - 23 July 2016
Most people come to Falmouth to do as much as possible, but for us it was a welcome opportunity to settle down and do as little as we felt, with a great view to ensure we weren't missing out on anything or everything. A well presented apartment, Mary Lynn thank you so much for having all the tools. Its been a hot fortnight, and cool, and ultra sunny, and cloudy and changeable. We went to Isles of Scilly, Helston, St.Mawes, Padstow, Kynance Cove to the Lizard, met relatives here in Falmouth. Have tried to keep up with watering the plants, any brownie points for watering the orchids?!! HaHa! Onward around the world, leaving Mum & Dads home county.
24 June - 1 July 2016
What a wonderful week! The weather wasn't that great, but that really didn't matter as the apartment was so comfy and clean well-equipped. Thank you Mary - very grateful for all the hard work you have put into this. I love Falmouth - it's so clean and the people are so friendly.

4 - 11 June 2016

Our first visit to Cornwall. Exceeded our expectations. The boat trips were great. We travelled to St Ives on the train with fantastic views in and out. Falmouth is fabulous, we have loved every minute. Thoroughly enjoyed long lunches in the Star and Garter and would strongly recommend The Lookout for the best Ham Hock Patties I have ever tasted and brilliant choice of Menu for lunch or evening. (Thank you for the wine & chocolates) Mary Lynn and Shelley this apartment is amazing, what you have done and how well it is kept is a credit to you. Loved it from the moment we stepped through the door. Thank you for making this a special stay with of course fabulous views.

28 May - 4 June 2016
Fantasically well thought out accommodation. Such attention to simple & efficient design is a vast treat. Every detail is carefully considered with clean and contempory fixtures, fittings and utensils. The location of course is a bonus.
21 - 28 May 2016
My daughter and I have had a very comfortable and much needed rest. The welcome pack was very appreciated by me to be able to have a cup of tea on arrival. We both found watching the boats from the balcony very enjoyable. Trips to Truro, St Ives, Mousehole and Penzance on the buses were very good. We would both recommend the Packet Station for a hearty breakfast and Harbour Lights for fish and chips, but avoid Cod on the Corner!
14 - 21 May 2016
We agree this is a super apartment. We have had an enjoyable week. Certainly recommend you visit Trelissick, Trebah and Glendugan gardens. Also catch the ferry to Place and walk around the Roseland Peninsula. We also caught the train to St Ives - the Barbara Hepworth Museum is well worth visiting. Catch the No35 bus to Trebah and walk back along the coast path. For eating out we had excellent meals at Samphire and Rick Steins. Thank you.
7 - 14 May 2016
Lovely apartment in a good spot! Would recommend Olivers the eatery ( a few doors down) best meal for locals, delicious food plus very accommodating for veggie requirements! (Let them know early) Gylly beach Cafe for a yummy cooked breakfast served til 11.30am Falmouth Boat Hire, self drive boat for 1/2 a day, we ended up at Trelissick Gardens where we moored and had a BBQ on the beach. Thanks Puffins, Im certain we'll be back again.
23 April - 7 May 2016
The Puffins has been a great base for our holiday and we echo what everyone else has said. If you want to attend Sunday Church service then we recommend Emmanuel Baptist Church on Western Terrace (10.30am) Thank you!
16 - 23 April 2016
We have had a lovely week with a good deal of sunshine & no rain until Friday. A good score for UK.
Puffins is beautifully situated and fitted out. The parking space makes life easy and we used buses & boat trips for some of the time. We love Falmouth, its bustle, shops and friendly people. There are plenty of things to see and do and plenty of places to eat. An excellent holiday.

PS Puffins is immaculate, much appreciated. Thanks.
2 - 9 April 2016

We've visited Falmouth 6 times in the last 7-8 years but this is our first visit/stay at Puffins. It is just what we are looking for and we have really enjoyed our short break. We ate at the Greenbank Hotel (birthday treat) and the nice new cafe at Trago Mills store - everyone so friendly and helpful. The welcome pack and flowers were lovely after a long journey - can't fault it! We will be back!

26 March - 2 April 2016
Our fifth visit to Puffins has been fantastic. Each year when we descend the stairs, open the door and look out onto the river we feel at peace. This is not just testament to the natural beauty of the area but also to the atmosphere created by Mary Lynn in this treasure of an apartment.
Not being drivers we use the various transport links and our own power to explore the area. This year has seen us venture out on new bus journeys including a very scenic route to Helston. The boats from the Prince of Wales Pier are reliable and great fun to go on. We highly recommend visiting Trellisick on them, and they are a lovely alternative to driving to Truro or St Mawes.
Eating out has been a pleasure as we have been spoiled for choice. Favourites have been the 3 Amigos, Shed and Harbour Lights. Bars and Pubs in Falmouth are all welcoming places, but our favourites this trip have been Beer Wolf and 8-bit which have some great games and books to add to the great atmosphere.
Ice cream has been a real great this week from the gelato shop, opposite Falmouth Bookseller, and Quirky Ice Creams from Swanpool. Also the walk from Swanpool to Puffins was breath-taking and well worth doing.
Falmouth is a fantastic town that we love, but Puffins' wonderful view and facilities is what always brings us back.
Thank you Mary Lynn. Until next time ... Chris & Abby Squire, Worthing W Sussex
12 -19 March 2016

28 February - 3 March 2016
We had a wonderful stay at Puffins. The facilites were wonderful as well! Everything you might need was here. Thank you so much for the wine, flowers, biscuits etc. We really enjoyed the "Blues and Brisket" night at the excellent Star and Garter and the Cavendish Coffee House for lunch. We loved the views from Puffins and we shall recommend you to all our friends. Thank you for us here a fantastic break.
28 December 2015 - 2 January 2016
Small but perfectly formed. Fantastic views across the Fal River. Would recommend the ferry to Flushing then walk around the headland to Mylor. Try the front and Seven Stars for the real Cornish Pub. Thank you for a wonderful stay at Puffins!

19 - 28 December 2015
We have had wonderful luck to stay at Puffins. The apartment has been fantastic and we enjoyed our visit. Thank you for the flowers, the bottle of wine and all the nice things, it was so lovely.

2 - 6 November 2015
After a long journey the welcome pack was much appreciated and the flowers a lovely touch. We have really enjoyed our short break at Puffins - a great apartment. It rained quite a bit but we still managed to get in some good walks. Recommend Fuel for good food.

24 - 31 October 2015
We think this is the most amazing apartment - spotless and with everything we could possibly want or need! Thank you Marylynn and Shelley. We have hardly used the car and found so many fantastic restaurants here in Falmouth. We recommend Fuel, Cubana here and Mannings in Truro. Deb's and Stuart's guided tours around Pendennis castle were A+, further afield we enjoyed visiting the Telegraph Museum in Porthcurnow near Lands End. A wonderful week, we look forward to returning next year.

3 - 10 October 2015
Thank you Mary Lynn, Geoff and Shelley for an enjoyable stay at Puffins. It is a comfortable, well equipped flat in a convenient spot with beautiful views. The secure parking space is also a real bonus and the wine, chocolates and flowers a welcoming touch. During the week we enjoyed visits to the gardens at Glendurgan and Heligan. Went shopping in Truro and mooched around Falmouth, enjoying the art gallery and watching The Martian (3d) at the Phoenix Cinema on a wet afternoon. Had a lovely brunch at Fuel in town and excellent dinners at Rick Steins and the Pandora Inn. The oyster festival was worth visiting, plenty of food and drink to taste whilst enjoying live music and cookery demonstrations. We also enjoyed visitng our favourite haunts at Helford Passage, Maenporth, Swanpool and Mylor. I'm sure we'll be back soon.
26 September - 3 October 2015
A great time and an eclipse of the moon from the balcony! A wonderful Puffins sunshine all the way. Thank you for everything and a lovely stay!
12 - 18 September 2015
Many thanks for the wine, milk, biscuits and flowers, very much appreciated. A pleasant stay at Puffins it was very well equipt with lovely views over the harbour. Shame the weather was not warmer but that did not stop us going on a few of the bost trips the best one being the one to Truro. We spent a very enjoyable day over on St Michaels Mount. If the weather is not good a day spent in the Maritime Museum is excellent value for money. Many thanks MaryLynn & Shelley
5 - 12 September 2015 /span>
We have had a great week being very lucky with the weather. Have enjoyed a trip up the river to Trelissick and bus trip to Glendurgan Gardens and Truro. Great individual shops. The apartment is very comfortable and has everything needed plus great extras, thank you. Thanks also to Shelley.

8 - 15 August 2015
After a long journey we opened the door and wow! Thank you so much for the delightful treats, homely comforts and amazingly clean apartment (huge thanks to Shelley x) We have had a brilliant time, enjoyed the wonderful views, used the kayak at Mylor Harbour along with breakfast, yummy! Delicious fish and chips at Rick Steins, great walks and two shows especially Kinks at the Princess Pavilions (a lovely place for coffee or drink or walk to the bay and Swanpool. Love to come back soon.
1 - 8 August 2015
Thank you for an amazing holiday in Falmouth!! We started walking the coast path in Devon 2 years ago and did a fair bit during our week here. Came by train - so got the 7 day bus pass which got us to our starting point - back here. Had fabulous weather! Visited the lovely gardens and castles with the FalRiver Attraction Pass
25 July - 1 August 2015
Thank you for your lovely apartment and all the extras that you have supplied. Its our first time at Falmouth the weather has been good to us so we have tried to see everything we can. Plenty of choice for cafes & pubs & the view from the apartment is so lovely it makes up for the 12 hour drive it took us to get here. Your housekeeper Shelley is a credit to you, the apartment was spotless on arrival. We hope to come back soon. Once again thanks for everything.
11 - 25 July 2015
Thank you for a lovely holiday, apartment very clean and comfortable. Lots of good days out.
27 June - 4 July 2015
We are just sitting out on the terrace on our last morning in Falmouth, enjoying the early morning views and reflecting on our lovely holiday. The apartment was excellent - everything has been considered and lovely little touches to make us feel at home. The weather has been hot, although not always sunny. We enjoyed the trip to St.Mawes and coffee at the Idle Rock. Trebah gardens was lovely. We ate out at Rick Stein's and Cubana; both good. A highlight for us was mussels from the fishmongers, which we cooked ourselves. A great stay - thank you.
20 - 27 June 2015
Great accommodation, spotlessly clean. Excellent location, close to all the amenities & wonderful eateries. Car not required for the areas around Falmouth, lots of walking and the occasional bus enabled us to leave the car in the garage most of the week - very relaxing! Thanks for all the little extras making it feel like home away from home!
13 - 20 June 2015
We came to Puffins 8 years ago before it was refurbished, the decor now is just fab & very cosy. It is so cosy and spotless & everything you need is here. The weather has been great and we have been to so many places really enjoyable. Thank you for the wine, flowers, biscuits etc (a lovely touch) Hope to return in the future.
6 - 13 June 2015
Just as we remembered it - lovely thank you. Hope to keep returning. Enjoyed the International Sea Shanty on Friday and can recommend The Warehouse for dinner. Also, thanks for the wine and biscuits, much enjoyed too.
30 May - 6 June 2015
An enjoyable week exploring our hometown! The viking exhibition at the Maritime Museum was almost as good as the view from the cafe upstairs. We particularly enjoyed the foods at Olivers in the high street. That chef knew a thing about cooking! The facilities at the apartment were excellent - we grew up with the view from the window, its nice to see it has been preserved.
23 - 30 MY 2015
We came to Falmouth to visit places I used to go with my family 40 odd years ago. A trip down memory lane. The nice think is that places hadn't changes a great deal. We have had a fantastic week, helped by coming back to this wonderful apartment. Many thanks MaryLynn & Co, A must eat at is the Greenbank Hotel, lovely food and views. We will be back.
16 - 23 May 2015
Fantastic apartment with great views. Very comfortable & cosy which was important as this was partly a convalescent holiday. Thank you for thinking of all the extras its great to be able to make a cuppa straight away after a long trip! Found the Mussel card useful, didn't use the car all week. The Viking exhibition at the Maritime Museum is well worth the visit - followed with Harbour Lights. The Crows Nest in Trago offers great well priced food and drinks with great views. There is so much to see & do in Falmouth we will definitely return to Puffins.
9-16 May 2015
Puffins is wonderful. Thank you for all the gifts you left for us. Much appreciated. Good food at Harbour Lights and Thai Orchid and Harbour View.
2 - 9 May 2015
This apartment certainly has the wow factor, which was apparent when we first opened the front door! Thank you for the flowers and biscuits etc, which was a very nice touch. Everything has been thought of here, which is wonderful, and a delight. Despite the mixed weather, we have had a lovely week. We hope to return. Thank you all.
18 - 25 April 2015
We had a really enjoyable stay, mainly because of our fine accommodation and weather. Thank you!
11 - 18 April 2015
Wow - what an amazing week! Many thanks for providing such a relaxing, well thought out home from home. Everything you need for an enjoyable stay really is made available here. We feel very blessed by the gorgeous weather and the beautiful places we have been able to visit. Highlights include, trips out Minack Theatre - stunning, if you can see a show make sure you go! Newquay - lots of gorgeous beaches! Bedruthan Spa - very relaxing & looks out over the sea. Trebah Gardens - beautiful peaceful & enchanting (the cafe is good too) Falmouth itself, enjoyed sitting with a drink over looking the river. Maenporth beach - great rockpools when the tide is out. Truro - good for shopping & yummy restaurants Kynance Cove - you must go there at low tide - one of the most beautiful places we've ever seen Lizard Point - Nice view from Polpeor Cafe (ok for a drink but the food is pretty standard) Places to eat Pandora Inn - Fab setting & yummy sunday roast. Cafe Cloud - Newquay, on the high street, friendly service and good food. Harbour Lights/Rick Stein fish and Chips The Ranch The Shed, trendy places! Sams in the city / the old grammer school - Truro. Gylly beach cafe - beautiful setting. Toms Bakery in Falmouth, great bread! As you can see, we have had a fun packed week & will be encouraging our family and friends to come and enjoy
4 - 11 April 2015
Another amazing week at Puffins! Puffins is like home from home, the apartment is fantastic with breath taking views of the Fal and Carrick Roads. What makes this apartment so wonderful is the level of detail and care MaryLynn, Geoff and Shelley put into this peaceful haven. Thank you! Adventures this week include the National Maritime Museum (the new viking exhibit is brilliant and I feel the Museum is better than its Greenwich sister) and visiting Fowey, St Austel and Mevagissey in teh same day using public transport! We suggest trying the latter as it is stress free and you see so much more from the bus & train. Repeats visits to Harbour Lights, 3 Amigos and Beerwolf proved standards to still be very high in Falmouth and excellent chances for good food and drink. We feel rested, recharged and relaxed - EXACTLY what a holiday should do for you and Puffins is what makes our vacation so easy and stress free. MaryLynn & Geoff it was lovely to meet and talk to you. Thank you so much for this wonderful apartment which gives us so much pleasure to visit. Abby and I look forward to sitting on the balcony taking in the view again soon. All the best Chris and Abby
28 March - 4 April 2015
Another lovely visit to Puffins. We will be back.
28 February - 7 March 2015
What a fantastic apartment, with wonderful views, particularly in the morning. Have really enjoyed the peace and quiet. Thank you! Ooh and the weather was perfect too.
13 - 28 February 2015
Thank you for the lovely enjoyable stay. We have been married for 26 years in March and hope to return to Puffins and Falmouth. Thank you again.
7 - 11 February 2015
A lovely few days, thank you MaryLynn & Shelley. Perfect studio appt - with superb views and everything that you would need. If you want a decent coastal walk just walk from the flat through the town to Gyllynvase beach and follow the coast to swanpool and Maenport - fantastic views and lots of coffee shops. If you are a coffee addict then M&S has a great view and Esprinni up Killigrew Street is quirky - and they even have their own beans. I will be coming again. Thanks for sharing.
27 December 2014 - 3 January 2015
Excellent accommodation for a couple. Very well equipped with lots of lovely extra touches. Convenient position. We were lucky with to have sunny weather virtually the whole week. We look forward to visiting again in the Spring.

1 - 8 November 2014
Lovely, well equipped apartment ideal for a couple. Enjoyed the views across the estuary & proximity to the town centre. Unfortunatley we had mixed weather (but it is November) Made the most of dry days, visiting local beauty spots & walking miles! Only negative side (which is out of your control) was that we had a couple of chain smokers outside continuously even in the wet weather, therefore making it difficult for us to use the terrace. Thank you your kind hospitality, wine, milk, tea, flowers etc. We will be back.
18 October - 1 November 2014
Lovely apartment, very well equipped and comfortable. Fantastic view & wonderful to be able to sit on the balcony and watch the ships and boats sail by. We would recommend Cubana for great food and the best pizza and cider from The Stable. We enjoyed Rick Stein too. Thank you for a great holiday here.
11 - 18 October 2014
Thank you so much for this amazing apartment. No complaints whatever, greeted with wine, flowers and coffee/tea - lovely thought. Weather was better than expected - sunshine on every day. Recommend ferryboat to Flushing, then walk along the coast to Mylor. Another leisurley was to Pendennis then along the coast to Swanpool Nature Reserve. Also enjoyed rail trip to Penzance.

A beautiful setting in a lovely part of the county. Lots to see and do and lovely choice of excellent eateries to sample. Highlights included the Minack Theatre, The Lost Gardens of Heligan and the stunning coastal views. Thank you for your hospitality.
13 - 20 September 2014
Amazing place, splendid views, wonderful hospitality. Thank you for all the above.
6 - 13 September 2014
Dear MaryLynn & Geoff, Thank you so much for the welcome tray, wine, chocolates and flowers. They were all very much appreciated. The apartment far exceeded our expectations, providing everything we could possibly have needed to make our holiday complete. We would recommend a trip to Trebah Gardens & Beach the food was most enjoyable too. Would also recommend dining at the Pavillion. The only downside to Puffins is that we have to leave it to go home again.
23 - 30 August 2014
Had a wonderful time. The apartment is amazing, just loved the huge window and views and comfy bed! Highlight of the week was a three hour sail on the Tall Ship Mercedes, still can't believe we did it. Had a first class meal at the Warehouse and have booked to go a second night. Went to the Star & Garter on Jazz night. Don't go there: service, drinks & food appalling (the peas where ok!) Really sad to be leaving. Thanks to Mary Lynn & Geoff for everything.

We have had a lovely stay at this lovely well equipped flat. The views are wonderful and it is a home from home place to stay. Although the weather has not been very good the flat is always warm and cosy. Thank you for the bottle of wine and the flowers a lovely touch. It was lovely to be able to have a nice cup of tea on arrival with milk in the fridge, very thoughful. Puffins has been such a great place to stay. We would recommend Samphire restaurant for a special meal. Wildebeast & Cinnamon great vegetarian places to eat. Book early for Samphire, didnt get to try Olivers as it was fully booked.
2 - 9 August 2014
So much thought was put into your house. The artwork on the walls is lovely. The time spent on the deck watching out over the harbour was peaceful and rejuvenating. Comments from this book and your recommendations were gratefully received. Your town and region has much to offer. An extra week here wouldn't have gone a miss.
26 July - 2 August 2014
As we walked through the door of Puffins it felt like we'd never been away! Both of us had been looking forward to this week after a rather stressful year! A mixture of bright, sunny days, overcast afternoons and humid nights. Visited the Maritime Museum for the second time - it was informative and interesting as always. Took the boat to Trelissick and Truro and visited the Shipwreck Museum at Charlestown. We spent the rest of the week relaxing and reading - and buying far too many books! Some of the new places we ate in this year included The Undergound at the bottom of the Old High Street. If you like unique settings and excellent burgers and cocktails this could be the place to visit. We also had a drink at Beerwolf just up a short flight of stairs opposite M&S. A wonderful pub with Cornish Ales and cider on tap, its own bookshop with very reasonable priced books and board games that you can play in the pub. Could there be a greater combination? As always, the service we receive here is 5*, the apartment is always cosy and welcoming and the personal touches top off a wonderful experience. Thank you so much.
12 - 26 July 2014
Thank you for the wonderful stay in Puffins. Its well equipped and lovely decorated. We love the artwork of Richard Pearce. Everything was perfect. The view from the balcony. eating while watching the boats will be unforgettable. Thank you for the milk, delicious wine and all the amenities! Our favourite beaches, Porthcurnow, Praa Sands, Swanpool Beach.
11 - 18 July 2014
A lovely setting to a holiday apartment with lots of interest happening locally. High quality fittings, furnishings and equipment much appreciated. Indifferent weather in Falmouth this week but travel just a few miles in any direction and it seemed by magic to improve! Lizard Point, Lands End, St Ives, Looe, Polperro, Mevagissy, Lanhydrock are worth visiting. Thank you
5 - 12 July 2014
Stayed in Falmouth several times, our first time in Puffins - now we know why Mary Lynn & Geoff come across as such proud & thoughtful owners! Thank you for your part making our holiday so lovely. So many places to go & so many things to do...just cram in as much as you can (while taking in the gorgeous view) & leave the rest to your next visit. Having said that, the Boathouse Pub has such a lovely view & Trebah on a lovely sunny day is always a favourite! Have fun & thanks again.
21 - 28 June 2014
We are regular visitors to Falmouth and this location is hard to beat, our only complaint is that we would prefer a comfy sofa rather than the leather chairs but as we spent most of the time walking the spectacular locale, who cares! Puffins is incredibly well-placed, we couldn't have asked for more and there is no doubt we will be back. The welcome pack was really appreciated, the ability to make a cup of tea on our arrival was excellent. The Wheelhouse, the seafood is spectacular but always book in advance. The Hut excellent food and very cosy. Harbour Lights fish and chips are superb. The Star and Garter next door excellent ale for the cask and very nicly cooked food with excellent roasts. The Seaview, great local with good ale and food. The Jabcob's Ladder, lively with good ale. The Chain Locker a bit like a club rather than a pub. Walks, everywhere! Its beautiful here and the more miles you walk the better it gets.
14 - 21 June 2014
Absolutely fabulous place, the apartment, the furnishing, the spectacular view and the owner and housekeeper. So lovely here want to stay longer!! Have the mussels at the Shack on Discovery Quay by the Maritime Museum. Fish and chips at Harbour Lights, yummy! We will definately be back!!!
7 - 13 June 2014
We have spent a very comfortable and enjoyable week here. The apartment has provided us with everything that we required and at a very high standard. Full marks to the housekeeper.
31 May - 7 June 2014
Used Puffins as a base for walking the Cornish Coastal footpath. Managed to walk from Coverack to Portloe in four trips from here. Bought a mussel card (£38 online)& it had paid for itself by day 4 on the ferries and buses. The ferries seem reliable but the buses have to be used with care as the cut backs mean they no longer go where they used to go eg. Portlooe, and hardly ran at all on sundays. Apart from walking - St Mawes & Pendennis Castle are interesting & Trelissick gardens nice (house is only opened weekends) It was always nice to come back to the Puffins oasis - a lovely retreat for exploring.
24 - 31 May 2014
A lovely clean apartment, beautiful views, enjoyed having breakfast alfresco. Hopefully we will come back again in the future.
17 - 24 May 2014
Thank you for providing a lovely apartment. We found everything we needed except, of course, George Clooney. Well maybe next time. The welcome pack was very much appreciated. Thank you all again we have had a great time.
10 - 17 May 2014
We won't repeat others about the excellent facilities - you can see them for yourselves! Tips - Get a Mussel Card, leave the car in the garage, public transport is fine. Gardens - Glendurgan, Trebah & Lamorvan. Eating - Harbour Lights, Oliver's, Hooked on the Rocks & the Cafe at Mylor. In the apartment itself - if you use the washer/dryer the tap is already on so you are ready to use the programme. The heater in the bathroom is very fierce - it gets hot very quickly. Multi-function microwave instructions very useful. We had a super holiday in this delightful part of Cornwall. The weather was great making it really comfortable to walk which we love and ferry just about everywhere. Just one problem when we were here: the maintenance on the roadside of the building took place so suffered drilling between 9.00 - 4.30!! We stayed out.
19 - 26 April 2014
A fantastic apartment! Lovely sunrise our first morning here - we never tired of the view! Recommend Orca Sea Safari - very exhilarating and cruise down to Truro. Lovely meal at the Indian over the fancy dress shop in town.
29 Mar - 5 April 2014
Lovely apartment, wonderful views. Definately be back again.
22 - 29 Mar 2014
Puffins made us feel at home away from home. Our daughter who lives in Falmouth came over to see us in the evenings. We also enjoyed Falmouth and Cornwall. You should visit St Michaels Mount! The only disappointment has been the weather, lots of rain! But these have been ample compensation.
14 - 22 Mar 2014
This was our first stay in Puffins and we have enjoyed it more than all the many other trips here. Puffins is perfect in every way. Our recommendations are, read the welcome pack and browse through all be many facilites here. These are little ones which make a big difference. There are electric candles, the fan in the bedroom and the clothes line in the bathroom.
For fish and chips, Harbour Lights is by far the best. Gylly beach cafe/restaurant is wonderful in terms of location. Pasties, Mary Lynn recommended Rowes, our daughter the King's Pipe and our favourite is Choaks. The ferry trip from the Prince of Wales pier are great fun, and great value with the Mussel card.
The stay was perfect and Puffins was perfect. Thanks
15 - 22 Feb 2014
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Puffins. A very comfortable apartment equipped with everything you could wish for. We particularly enjoyed meeting Mary Lynn, and enjoyed our evening out sampling local cuisine. What a lovely person and so generous. The wifi was a real plus for us to keep in touch with our daughter in New Zealand as well as finding geocaches. We had a real mixture of weather including days warm enough to sit outside. Seeing daffodils out and camellias on our travels really lifted our spirits. Spring is coming! Puffins is a new find for us and we will be back (hopefully) on our next visit to Falmouth.
28 Jan - 1 Feb 2014
We stayed at the Greenbank many times but after poor service in 2013 we needed somewhere else to stay. Puffins was like a big comfy hotel room with everything we needed. Car parking - view - comfy bed - near enough to the town to walk to restaurants. A problem with the heater was dealt with within minutes of reporting. Many thanks we will be back.
4 - 8 January 2014
Last year I discovered Skoner Island now I have found Puffins in Falmouth. Thank you for the wonderful stay - although very wet and windy. My granddaughter (5years) counted 102 puffins - including the stack of postcards & tea cosy. Hopefully I will be able to stay again in the summer.
12 - 19 October 2013
A great week in Falmouth - the tourist agency are so well organised. We used the Mussel Card for all transport needs, so the car remained in the garage all week. River cruise to Malpas (on to Truro) was worthwhile and visits to Helford and Glendurgan via bus were very scenic. Also St. Mawes is charming. Recommends for the Natural Food store for pasties & bread. Da Vinci's for real Italian food, Harbour Lights for fish & chips. Puffins was great and so well located with stunning views.

5 - 12 October 2013
It was a pleasure returning to Puffins for a relaxing week. The weather was superb for most of the week. Thank you for the generous welcome pack we enjoyed them all. Fish and Chips always taste better by the sea. Most chippies now cater for gluten free dinner, so F & C were a big treat for Wanda. The Oyster Festival is also a treat at this time - a plate of oysters and a pint of Betty Stoggs goes down a treat. We managed a few boat trips and enjoyed the towns. The apartment was warm and comfortable, all in all a perfect week.

28 September - 5 October 2013
We expected good from the website - but we didn't expect the wow factor. We have enjoyed our week despite grey and rainy weather - it was lovely to skip through the front door & on rare occasions onto the balcony - what a view!! I'm afraid cooking has not been high on the agenda. We have eaten out most days. Lunch at Trelissick and Trebah gardens, evening meals at Da Vinci's, Ming's Chinese and fish and chips at Harbour Lights. The Maritime Museum is very good too. The high street is a wonderful place to eat or shop. We recommend Stone's bakery for bread and cakes. Can't wait to come again when we can enjoy better weather perhaps. Thanks to you all. P.S The only downside 20p to go to the public toilet!!

14 - 21 September 2013
The wonderful sunrise on our first morning set the tone for a very enjoyable week here. We particularly enjoyed local walks, the Maritime Museum and ferry trips, and Trelissick gardens. Thank you for the welcome pack.

31 August - 14 September 2013
First of all thank you very much for the welcome pack - especially the bowl of fruit!! We had a wonderful 2 weeks at Puffins, very comfortable & relaxing atmosphere. The views are fantastic and we have thoroughly enjoyed watching a vast array of shipping - from dingies to cruise liners, tankers and the Royal Navy. We found eating out in Falmouth expensive, but being Scots we got our money's worth! Our favourite eating places have been the Pandora Inn, Indaba on the beach at Swanpool and the Harbour Lights Fish & Chips shop which is far better than Rick Stein! We came to explore the Lizard Penisula and the Lizard has stolen our hearts.
24 to 31 August 2013
We've now been coming to Falmouth for ten years and our last three visits we've stayed at Puffins. It's such a well-appointed apartment with a great location and of course a fantastic ever changing view, that we never tire of. Over the years, we've visited most of the recommended attractions in Cornwall, and they all, without a doubt, are worth a visit. However, for us Falmouth had developed into one of our favorite places in the world to come and recharge our batteries. In our three visits to Puffins, we've not used the car once, instead using the ferries and boat trips to explore the Fal Estuary and Roseland Peninsula. Falmouth itself is a great little town, with an abundance of individual shops. It has a number of delis, butchers, bakers greengrocers etc. It has a vast array of eateries to suit all tastes and budgets. Over the years we've probably eaten in most, but we'd recommend from this trip, Gylly Beach Cafe, Fuel, The Hut, The Treehouse and Five Degrees West. There are plenty of great pubs too. Its hard to beat sitting outside the Chain Locker and watching the world go by. Beerwolf Books is an interesting pub and Bookshop with a variety of ales and ciders.
Thank you for the welcome pack. We've had another great holiday and should be back next year.
17 to 24 August 2013
Perfect weather. Comfortable apartment. Stunning sunrises over the harbour. Excellent eating at Greenbank Hotel and Mylor Harbour. Hospitality tray and wine much appreciated including bowl of fruit!!!
27 July - 10 August 2013
We had a wonderful fortnight in Puffins enjoying the comfortable equipment, the fine bed and the enjoyable look out of the window over the sea. Changing clouds and colours delighted us every time. The weather was fine. We could undertake excursions every day. Thank you for the warm welcome with best wishes.

20 - 27 July 2013
Thank you again for a lovely week! We had a wonderful time exploring the River Fal. We had a lovely time visiting the Minack Theatre: the play was fantastic and the journey adventurous! We even managed to make it to the Eden Project on what must of been one of the hottest days of the year. We ate at some of Falmouth's most celebrated eateries, including Harbour Lights & The Shack and thoroughly enjoyed the local produce. Puffins continues to be a peaceful haven reading our books till nightfall. We shall miss Puffins terribly! Wishing everyone well.

13 - 20 July 2013
Thank you for the opportunity to stay in your lovely apartment. Welcome pack, wine & flowers were a lovely touch. Weather perfect, blue skies all week, we will remember our holiday in the Scottish cold winter. Best Wishes.
6 - 13 July 2013
What a wonderful week we have had in your lovely apartment. Thank you for the welcome pack, wine & flowers. Terrific views. We did most of the things mentioned and aslo happened to catch a rehearsal at the Minack Theatre, such a treat. We loved Rick Steins and Amanzi, and morning coffee and fresh bakes at The Stone Bakery just down the road. This has been a long anticipated week and the weather glorious - all the stars aligned for us. Thank you Mary Lynn, Geoff and Shelley
1 - 8 June 2013
This was our third visit to Puffins. We really enjoy staying in the apartment. There is everything provided to make the stay comfortable and homely. Thank you for the wine, chocolates and biscuits. We have had a lovely week, its been sunny and hot - what a week to pick to visit. Would recommend a visit to the Maritime Museum and a boat trip to Truro. Thank you, and of course we will be returning next year!!

25 May - 1 June 2013
What a wonderful view! We only had one breakfast inside after a very wet night and managed to eat all our meals we had in the evening at Puffins outside. It was a great base for some serious walking on the coast and river. We managed 4 days without using the car, taking the ferry to Flushing the first day & walking around the path as far as Pandora Inn, and a bit further before making our way back inland & around Penryn with a map. It was great weather on Sunday but Bank Holiday Monday was a very wet afternoon. Went across to St Mawes by ferry enjoyed the castle & walked the estuary across the King Harry chain ferry to Trelissick gardens, returning by ferry to Falmouth - lovely garden even in the rain. Tuesday walked around to Pendennis castle — fantastic location— & continued on the coast path around to Helford and up through Mawnan Smith & through Budock Water back to the apartment. Went for a lovely meal at Oliver's to celebrate a birthday. Wednesday was another trip on the St Mawes ferry & then across from St Mawes to St Anthony's on the Place ferry for a trip that took us to a lovely walk to Porthscatho & back to the ferry via the Percuil river. Only just caught the last ferry, but if we had missed it was to ring the ferry office and they would come and get you. Got back to St Mawes & enjoyed free jazz on the quayside. Last couple of days had to have the car using the King Harry chain ferry to drive to Porthscatho & continue our walk along the coast to Portloe & back through country lanes. Had a lovely but expensive cream tea at Lugger Hotel at Portloe lovely spot. Great beach cafe on the water front just outside Porthscatho. Finally drove to Helford & walked coast path to Coverack. Enjoyed Punch & Judy show at the lovely Fat Apple Cafe just outside Porthallow. Finished with a early tea at an award winning seaside cafe in Coverack & managed to walk 6 miles back through country lanes back to Helford. Enjoyed our last breakfast outside in this beautiful spot. Puffins itself had everything we needed for a great holiday. Thank you.
18 - 25 May 2013
How nice to find the 'welcome' card & bottle of wine on our arrival as prelude to a great week in lovely 'Puffins', the base for many fascinating expeditions by boat & on foot throughout the Fal Estuary. Our only frustration was the cold northerly winds preventing as many meals 'on deck' as we would have liked ... not the fault of Puffins, though!
Many, many thanks,
Chris & Sue , Norfolk
11 - 18 May 2013
Puffins is a beautiful, stylish apartment in a superb location. Thank you for letting us stay.

27 April to 4 May 2013
Excellent apartment and facilities surpassed only by the view. The exceptional late spring weather meant we explored Cornwall and would highly recommend Puffins as a base for such a lovely county.

6 - 13 April, 2013
We both thank you all very much for a wonderful holiday at Puffins. The welcome pack and accommodation amenities were very much appreciated. We visited Truro, Helford Passage, St Mawes and Penzance amid beautiful views and scenery, and hope to return here sometime in the future. Thank you all again.

23 - 30 March 2013
Thank you so so much for everything. Puffins feels like home, and we're looking forward to being back here. Whilst the rest of the country has been covered in snow, we've had all other weather forms we could think of..... and loved it! Even a day with glorious sunshine. Yesterday the Mercedes (Dutch Tallship) took us out of the bay into high waves and plenty of drenching sprays on her deck. Puffins hot shower was a god send. My 50th birthday dinner - yesterday - at the (cellar located)restaurant called Two Ten 200 (it's actually their phone number) was so splendid we can highly recommend it. They're apparently changing their name, but at least you've got their number now. Thanks again!
Mieke & Carsen, East Sussex
PS Next time we may sail into the bay with/on Timitu, our boat.
16 - 23 March 2013
Puffins is the perfect location in Falmouth, allowing us really to get to know the area. We found it a comfortable and welcoming home to return to, especially on the super bad weather days. Mary Lynn was fantastic throughout the booking process. Not to be missed is the Lizard Peninsula and the Lifeboat Station. Tea at Housel Bay Hotel on the Lizard is lovely. Lunch at the Falmouth Hotel after a hike to Pendennis Castle is a great day. We hope to return!
2 - 9 March 2013
As first time visitors to Falmouth we were not sure what to expect. We were quickly put at ease when we entered Puffins, a lovely homely feel and a great view meant our holiday had started well. Considering how cold it had been the week before, we got very lucky with the weather and managed to explore most of Cornwall not needing a coat by the end of the week! It was lovely returning to Falmouth at the end of the busy day to taste the delights of its numerous eateries and then back to Puffins and home comforts. Hope to return soon.

9 - 16 February 2013
A superb week with good weather for February - especially when compared with the rest of the country! As jazz musicians we were delighted to find that a bass player with Ivy Bansin's band was with the resident night trio only a few yards away at the Star & Garter. Another musical treat was the swing band at 5 Degrees West on Thursday evening. A little further away the Smugglers Inn, St Erth Praze on Sunday midday is well worth the 40 minutes drive if you like old style jazz. Some of our favourite places to eat & drink: Beerwolf - where you can also browse books - no food, but you can take your own. The Deli, The Hut, and the Da Vinci restaurant conveniently close to Puffins. We had the good luck to see dolphins while returning from St. Mawes on the ferry. Of course we also echo the sentiment of others regarding the comfort and high quality of this wonderful 'host',

26 January - 2 February 2013
Puffins was the perfect antidote for London and I'm only sorry the week has gone quickly. I've enjoyed relaxing in Falmouth and beyond and will certainly return 'in season' when the ferries and eateries are open. That said I squeezed in plenty as it is. I highly recommend getting fish and chips for Harbour Lights and taking them down to the pub 'The Front' to enjoy with a pint of Cornish Ale.
Marc, London
12 - 16 January 2013
As soon as we walked into Puffins we knew all the reviews were right. Thank you Mary Lynn and Shelley for the welcome tray and flowers. Our 3 day stay has been wonderful and we feel delightfully 'chilled'! We'd both love to come back again for a longer stay.
We would highly recommend the Warehouse Bistro and the Ghurka restaurant (Sundays all you can eat buffet for £10!) Thank you for a lovely stay.

What a lovely welcome after a long drive to arrive to wine, chocolates & flowers - and even a bottle of fizz for New Year's Eve. We spent New Year in the Star & Garter with friends - what fun! The radiators work well - it's always cosy and the apartment is beautifully, most thoughtfully, equipped. Exceeds all other holiday rentals we have experienced. Thank you so much. Happy 2013.

13 - 20 October 2012
Thank you, we have had a lovely relaxing break in Falmouth. St Ives & Lizard Point were excellent day trips. The food in Falmouth has been great: recommendations include The Wheelhouse, Cribbs & Thai Orchid. The apartment has been a lovely base to explore from and all the extra touches are much appreciated.

29 September - 13 October 2012
Wonderful stay here at Puffins the last 2 weeks. Apartment was perfect, really well stocked, thanks for the wine, chocs, biscuits, fresh milk etc, lovely flowers. Love Falmouth, so much to do. Have visited lots of local attractions & further a field loved St Ives & boat ride up Fal River. Pendennis Castle another highlight. Enjoyed fabulous seafood at local restaurants and pubs, just try them all!! Best views from balcony, tried to dodge the rain to enjoy it. Many thanks.

22 - 29 September 2012
We have had a lovely time here at Puffins and in Falmouth. The flat is perfect for a break away and, despite mixed weather, we have found lots to do and are now very "chilled"! This is what we both needed. A day at St Ives, visiting the Barbara Hepworth Museum was great. As was moseying around the shops and buying shoes! A perfect time. We look forward to coming again. Thank you.
Bridget & Keith, London
15 - 22 September 2012
Have had another lovely week at Puffins. This is our second visit and we have already booked for next year. That's how much we enjoy coming back. The apartment is perfect. We have been very lucky with the weather. The boat trips to Truro and Helford River are recommended. Thank you for the welcome pack.

8 - 15 September 2012
We have had a nice week. Weather & walking good. Walked a total 32 miles. Thank you for the wine & biscuits. Hope to be back again.
1 - 8 September 2012
Had a lovely week. Your apartment was just how it was on the website. Nothing was lacking and we felt very comfortable. The weather was good and we used local buses to Mawnan Smith and Helford Passage and did some very good walks. The walk from Maenporth Beach around the coast to Falmouth was particularly good as was the walk from Penryn along the river bank to Flushing and around to Mylor Church and returning on Flushing Ferry was good.

25 August - 1 September 2012
This is our 2nd visit to Puffins this year, and we have enjoyed our stay even more than our 1st time. As many other guests have said it is just like home from home. Falmouth is becoming very special to us and Puffins is a perfect place to come back to after long days exploring other beautiful places in Cornwall. We have enjoyed visiting St Michaels Mount along with trips to the Lizard Point, Lands End, Penzance, Mousehole, Newlyn and still there is so much more to discover; on our last trip here highlights were Pendennis Castle and St Mawes. We were very happy that the weather was not as bad as we thought it might be. We also enjoyed a meal at The Boathouse and The Star and Garter next door was also very nice. For something a little special we ate at The Red Lion in Mawnan Smith. Thank you for the special touches left once again on our arrival, we very much hope to return to Falmouth & Puffins in the not too distant future.
Neil & Lyn, London
18 - 25 August 2012
Thank you once again for a fantastic holiday in Falmouth. We stayed in Puffins 2 years ago and it feels like coming home. Lovely apartment, lovely town and we were reasonably lucky with the weather!! We'll be back!
Best Wishes

11 - 18 August 2012
Even the inclement weather hasn't dampened our delight for Falmouth and Puffins. The apartment has everything, and everything in it place. We relaxed and enjoyed all we saw and did. Using public transport added to the relaxation. We found the Town Trail leaflet from the Tourist Office, which directed us to new corners of Falmouth and gave us a real insight into the architecture of the town and the town's history. The alleyways and quays that it led us to were a delight - £1 very well spent!

Our favourite days? The stroll to Pendennis Castle was fascinating and the interpretation of the castle so well done as to appeal to all ages. The river trip somewhat bouncy on the return journey to Trelissick but the garden was superb. We were unimpressed with the amount of real food like bread and enjoyed meals at The Boathouse and The Hut. Altogether a great week, and Puffins was a tremendous place to be. Thank you.

21 - 28 July 2012
We arrived in Falmouth to beautiful sunshine, a wonderful change after our wet summer so far, and made a brave decision to walk to the apartment as it was such a wonderful day. It was a challenge but it gave us our first view of the town.

I fell in love instantly with Falmouth as this is only my second time to Cornwall. I was not prepared for the stunning views, the Old High Street was so engaging that I barely noticed the steep climb with our heavy luggage. Entering Puffins we found a perfect haven and base for our exploration of the Fal River. When we ventured out onto the balcony we were stunned by the beautiful view over to Flushing, St Mawes and beyond.

The facilities at Puffins are second to none, the location for those, like us, without a car was perfect for the buses and Ferries. Puffins has ensured that our honeymoon has been perfect and we cannot wait to return.

Thanks so much.

14 - 21 July 2012
We have had a lovely week in Falmouth. We agree with every word written in this book. Your attention to detail was very much appreciated. Puffins apartment is perfect — I could not think of anyway that you could improve it, you have thought of everything. Thank you.

What a great feeling to return to Puffins, but this time for two weeks, which has allowed us to really relax. Weather has been mixed but that hasn't stopped us enjoying ourselves, great welcome pack - thank you it's like being at home!! Finally visited the Seal Sanctuary at Gweek and also returned to a variety of our favorite places including Godrevy on the north coast & Praa Sands near Marazion. Good food at the Boat House & Star & Garter, but also try Armazi near the other end of High Street. Thank you for the great well-equipped flat yet again. We will be back.
- Alison & Tony, Stockport
16 - 23 June 2012
We will always remember Puffins & its wonderful view, with fondness. We had a lovely time even though the weather was quite unsettled. We had fun exploring Falmouth and the other seaside towns and villages of Cornwall - all very charming and picturesque! Thank you for sharing your home with us. The welcome tray was such a nice touch.

Much appreciated.

9 - 16 June 2012
A wonderful apartment in which to spend a relaxing week. It contained everything we needed, was beautifully clean and is well-placed in Falmouth. The area had plenty of places to visit even in slightly inclement weather. As advised if you want to dine at Oliver's book as soon as you arrive. We will be back again.

2 - 9 June 2012
Puffins is a beautiful place with wonderful views from the living room and the bedroom. We thank you for your welcome tray & note. plus the lovely red wine & the flowers. It was wonderful to be able to lay on the comfy bed and watch television. We had a Sunday Carvery at The Boathouse just across the road and we also enjoyed dining at Da Vinci's - the Italian food was great. We went on a ferry to Truro and had a great day. We love Falmouth and look forward to our return soon. We were here two years ago & enjoyed it then too. Thank you for your assistance with the internet, we made good use of it, keeping in touch with friends and family. All the best to you.

19 - 26 May 2012
We have had a lovely week at Puffins. So impressed with the attention to detail. You wouldn't find better anywhere. The view is just magnificent!! Had a great roast at the Star & Garter next door, good cheap meals at the Weatherspoons. A tip to others: use the public transport! Parking is a real problems in some of the towns. Very narrow streets and parking is costly. The only minus was the weather, which was average. Coming from Queensland Australia, we are probably spoilt. It didn't stop us from enjoying ourselves, loved the view every day. Would love to come back one day. Many thanks.

5 - 19 May 2012
I had a wonderful stay at Puffins. I was here for the Finn Gold Cup, which was a qualifier for the Olympics. It was so nice to have a place while racing to come back to and feel like home. The view is amazing. If I was even to get to come back to Cornwall I will be making my booking at 'Puffins'. I was so lucky to have found this rental. Thank you.
- Adam, Ontario, Canada
28 April - 5 May 2012
Ditto to everything said previously about your very well-equipped apart- ment. Weather a bit damp at times (didn't have to water the plants) but there are plenty of good restaurants to keep dry in in Falmouth. Can recommend The Shed's sister, The Shack, which is very good for fish. Thanks for the wine and biscuits.

29 March - 7 April 2012
My visits to Puffins are always busy, but this visit was especially so as I was organising additional care for my disabled, and now seriously ill, sister-in-law. I don't believe I could have managed as well as I did without the peace and beauty of Puffins to refresh me at the end of each wearing day, and the joy of waking in Puffins comfortable bed to "sunrises in the mirrors" each morning.
And there were especial joys and breaks in this time too. Shelley, our wonderful housekeeper, took me on a lovely outing to Caerhays Castle on the Roseland, which comes into it's peak when the magnolias and camellias bloom in the Spring. And it was also a great delight to have my visit coincide with that of long-time friends, now living in France, who recently purchased a holiday flat, Horizons, in Packet Quays.
We had our annual Quality in Tourism inspection during this week, and are pleased to report that we have again been awarded the Gold Award for Excellence, our rating having climbed now to the very top of the 4 Star self catering classification thanks to the replacement of the night storage heaters with our new electric radiators which make temperature regulation a breeze. Due to our small size this is where we are capped, but we will ensure that we stay here!
On this trip to Puffins I replaced our fridge, the previous one - though perfectly functional - having become noisy.
During this stay I particularly enjoyed the guests holidaying in the neighbouring flats. Being cheek-by-jowl as all the terraces are in the High Street flats, the attitudes of the holiday guests can affect everyone for better or worse, particularly in fine weather. The friendliness of my neighbours as I made use of early morning sunshine to clean and oil our decking made my stay a joy in spite of other circumstances.

We loved our stay here in Falmouth and had fabulous weather for March. Did lots of coastal walking and visited St Michael's Mount and St Mawes, which are both well worth visiting. The view from Puffins is glorious and the whole apartment well-equipped & comfort- able. Unfortunately Pendennis Castle was still closed, but we still managed to get a good walk in to Swan beach and Pool The Star & Garter is worth visiting when they have 'live' music nights. Rowes Pasties are very good & scrummy and the Fish & Chip shop down the very end of the High Street serves up excellent food. Thanks very much for the stay.

17 - 24 March 2012
As always it's been wonderful to be back in Puffins, despite the fact that I've been terribly busy dealing with changes that need to be put in place due to the declining health of my disabled sister-in-law in Mylor Bridge. Fortunately I've been able to get another week for myself at Puffins before returning to Canada Easter Sunday!

Beautifully presented with flowers & wine & a lovely welcome. First night we went to the pub next door (Star & Garter) full to brim with Falmouth Marine Band who were marching a retired RNLI volunteer through the town with drums, comedy bugles etc -HILARIOUS! We'd seen them in Benodet several years ago. The French are still wondering what it was all about. They fired plastic/rubber chickens & flour out of canons. Enjoyed Breton evening of music and dance at 'The Front' - CAMRA pub of the year 2011. Sea shanties every other Friday. Very welcoming landlord. Enjoyed wonderful still, mild & sunny weather. Many delightful walks - Roseland Penninsula, coastal paths. Puffins is so well placed for everything - and a delight to return to after a long day out. Many thank Mary Lynn for sharing Puffins with us.

11 - 18 February 2012
We enjoyed coming back to Puffins. A home from home and a lovely welcome awaited us - much appreciated. The weather was dry but a little windy but we still managed to go on The Duchess to St. Mawes. We had a lovely Sunday lunch at St. Michaels hotel and superb Valentine evening at the Greenbank Hotel. One blot on the landscape was that the 'Free parking on Wednesday' promotion was misleading as it only referred to 2 car parks and we parked in the wrong one. So Rick Stein's fish & chips turned out to be very pricey. Apart from that the week spent at Puffins in Falmouth was perfect.

Great place, excellent attention to detail. Cold weather but sunny. We're here to celebrate Nigel's 60 birthday, feel relaxed and refreshed. He had a lovely reflexology session in town. Great meal at the Thai restaurant. Puffins lovely and warm, got everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. Comfy bed for a great night's sleep. Thank you Mary Lynn, Geoff and Shelley.

This is our first visit to Cornwall. We're so impressed with the many quaint ports and villages and so many friendly people. We always, however, look forward to returning to Puffins with its great views. Thank you for the use of your Rover. So may wonderful mem- ories from Port Isaac, Looe, Polperro, Mevagissy. We are so appreciative of your generous gesture. Hope we will return some day.

Puffins, as usual, has worked magic. This really is the perfect bolt-hole. I've spent the time here alone - yet never felt lonely - watching the harbour is an endless fascination and the business standard con- nection has enabled me to keep my clients happy at the same time as taking a break and some time out from the day-to-day to do some much needed thinking and planning for the business & me. I've lost the number of times I've visited Puffins, but each time I am captivated by the magic of this little bijou jewel - I will be back. Thank you Mary Lynn.

Our second visit to Falmouth at this special time of year. A fantastic place to relax and unwind after a Christmas enter- taining the family.

Puffins far outstrips all other accommodation in Falmouth - you so deserve your Gold Award.

Although it rained all week we still enjoyed the great views. We too have visited most of the places already mentioned by your other guests - all well worth a visit. Our favorite eating place is Olivers - small, friendly & great great food, but booking is advised. The Boathouse is a great place for an early evening drink - and the bar games are great fun too. A great time had by the both of us.
- David & Laura, Basingstoke
P.S Mary Lynn the radiators are perfect!
10 - 17 December 2011
We had a lovely time in Puffins over the past week, despite the more 'traditional' rainy English weather. The [new] heaters seemed fine to work with, and we managed to make Puffins cosy even during the hailstorms which we could watch through the large window.

So it rained all week - it may have prevented us from using the balcony but it couldn't ruin our days wandering around town, the Seal Sanctuary at Gweek, Eden Project & Trebah Gardens - Oh and St. Ives and Pendennis Castle. How lucky Falmouth is to have so many lovely eateries - BOOK ALL IN ADVANCE!!

The apartment is exceptional and beautiful with the lovely harbour views. We have enjoyed our stay and thank you for the wine and biscuits etc. This is a very nice touch. We will come again and tell our friends what an exceptional apartment Puffins is. Thank you again.
29 Oct - 3 Nov 2011
We have enjoyed our holiday in your delightful apartment. This has been a great place to end our 11 weeks of travel around the USA and England.
We saw so many lovely places in Cornwall from Boscastle in the north to Lizard Point to the south. Looe in the east to Mousehole in the west (where we had the best cream tea at 2 Fore Street) Our favourites were Polperro, Mevagissy, Fowey, Port Issac & St Ives but it was always good to come 'home' to such a lovely place each evening. Thank you so much for sharing your lovely home with us.
P.S The wild weather made viewing places like Kynance Cove and Lizard Point spectacular.
22 - 29 Oct 2011
Lovely first impression which lasted all week. What better than wine and yellow roses to welcome us?
Very stylish, well equipped - we shall be back.
15 - 22 Oct 2011
This is our eighth consecutive visit in Falmouth and our second at Puffins. However, its the first time we've been in October. It was great to catch the end of the Oyster Festival. The weather was surprisingly good - certainly better than August weather we've had here for the previous two years.
The view from the terrace is always changing, always fantastic as something is always going on. Falmouth itself is a great place, loads of individual shops and places to drink and eat. Over the years, we've visited most of them, but recommendations from this visit include: Two Ten, Clark's, Gurka, Gylly Beach Cafe, Courtyard Deli, Anne's Kitchen, Baker Tom. Like others have mentioned you can get away without using the car; indeed we haven't used ours at all since arriving. The ferry to St. Mawes is always pleasant day out. We visited there at least once per visit and there are plenty of easy enough walks: into and around Penryn, Flushing and Mylor, Pendennis Head, and Swanpool Beach.
The apartment is perfect for a couple. Thank you for the flowers, wine, coffee & biscuits. As long as this apartment is available I can't see any reason why I'd stay anywhere else in Fal- mouth in future.
8 - 15 Oct 2011
The apartment is as it says on the website. Fully equipped with everything you need for your stay. The view from both levels is stunning. The boat trip to Truro was worthwhile. We went on the Wednesday when it was the farmers market. We would recommend the Oyster Festival, loads of seafood, ale + cider. There was also local produce market there. We parked the car on arrival and never used it again until we left. There is plenty of ways to get around without driving. Already booked for September next year.

24 Sep - 7 Oct 2011
Once again we have loved being at Puffins ourselves on this semi-annual time in residence, delighting, as always, to walk in and find Puffins spotless and welcoming, with every- thing just as we left it – and all our guests find it – save for the few much appreciated "extras" from our wonderful housekeeper, Shelley.
During this visit, in addition to preparing the terrace garden for Autumn and Winter, we upgraded the facilities by changing out the night storage heaters for efficient electric rad- iators which should ensure uniformly com- fortable temperatures in the flat through the winter. installed a top-of-the-line ceramic hob (which has improved my cooking considerably!), and a Bosch washer-dryer which is a beauty to operate. As on each of these visits, we also have our painter decorator working both inside and out to ensure the flat looks brand new.
Needless to say, with all this work we lived in semi-chaos for much of our stay, but it was sheer delight to get it back together before we left. And it wasn't all work, either: we had wonderful visits with family and friends both old and new and spent the exquisite 1st October weekend walking the coast path, visiting a wonderful find of the Potager Garden and restaurant in High Cross, Constantine, and finally getting to see the spectacular Minack The- atre in Porthcurno.
Mary Lynn (& Geoff) - Owners

17 - 24 September 2010
Fab, Fab, Fab - what a wonderful place to stay - so well equipped - Home from home. Location great for walking. Recommend a little guide book for the area called 'Friendly Guide' available at the ferry ticket office. We ate at all the afore mentioned places. Pub next door is good value and atmosphere. Definatley get fish & chips from Harbour Lights - best ever. Weather was kind to us and we had a great week

10 - 17 September 2011
What a wonderful view to wake up to every morning, and we have had the best weather too. What a lovely flat every need catered for. Thank you sharing your home with us, and for the the very welcome pack, biscuits, wine etc.
3 - 10 September 2011
Immaculately presented apartment - all 'mod-cons' and a fabulous view thrown in. This is an excellent base to explore all that Falmouth and the surrounding areas have to offer. We had a lovely meal the The Hut and another at Thai Orchid in Falmouth. We would also recommend a ferry trip to St.Mawes to the castle and sample a meal at the Rising Sun. We were lucky enough to enjoy a sailing in the Tall Ship Mercedes when she was in harbour between 2nd & 4th September - an exhilarating experience. Weather not terribly good this week but we'll be back next year in search for a heatwave! Thank you Mary Lynn & Geoff for giving us the opportunity to enjoy your lovely home.
27 August - 3 September 2011
We've had a fabulous holiday here in Falmouth. The 'Puffins' apartment was perfect in every way. Beautifully appointed, great location and very quiet and relaxing. Hope we may be back again.
20 - 27 August 2011
A great time had by both of us. The apartment is fab, and in a great location. Amazing views! Falmouth is a great town, lots to do and see, will come back again.
13 - 20 August 2011
Thank you very much for a lovely stay! There is so much to do in Cornwall, and the flat is in such an ideal location. Would greatly recommend a trip to St. Mawes, and Eden Project is brilliant, lots to see. Also St.Ives was beautiful. Ridiculously busy though! Thanks.
6 - 13 August 2011
We have had a wonderful time in Falmouth, in Puffins and at the lovely coast path. Thank you for all.
30 July - 6 August 2011
We had a lovely week in this well-equipped apart- ment. Wonderful views of the harbour (this week was special because they were filming at the jetty World War Z with Brad Pitt) We went on various trips but especially we liked the village Mousehole. We loved watching your DVD Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier, especially in this Cornish atmosphere.
We hebben een heel mooie week gehad in Puffins. Het is een luxe appartement, gelegen aan de mooie High Street in Falmouth: alles is echt op loopafstand. Het uitzicht op de baai is prachtig.
16 - 30 July 2011
After a very long journey from Australia, we just lounged, relaxed and recovered for a few days especially as the weather was very cold and wet. The apartment was extremely well-equipped and comfortable and the pub next door very handy with cheap food. We enjoyed touring around on public transport as we decided not to hire a car. St Ives was so busy and crowded, but the local ferries to Truro and Flushing were delightful. Nine beaches also after a short bus ride. Went by bus to St Austell to visit our friends. Our second week put on better weather. Thanks Mary Lynn.
9 - 16 July 2011
Visiting Puffins for our honeymoon - after a stressful few weeks of wedding planning. Upon arrival we fell in love with the view! The welcoming touches were so thoughtful & the apart- ment was immaculate. Having spent most of the week relaxing and unwinding (& eating) our recommendations for dining out would be: The Wheel House, Olivers, Clarks, Rick Steins, Harbour View and Samphire - although we had lovely evenings in all of them. The chips at Harbour Lights are delicious especially with a pint at The Tap. The Maritime Museum is well worth a visit as are the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Padstow is charming. (Prescadou has fantastic mussels) We also returned to Pendennis Castle for tea & gorgeous views. We had a wonderful stay pottering along the High Street & thoroughly recommend Kings Pipe Pasties & the flapjacks at Stones Bakery. Finally, Hand Bee Bar is so friendly. We'll be back in October for the Beer Festival!
2 - 9 July 2011
This was, I think, my fifteenth visit to Fal- mouth and the sixth property I have rented. None was better pre- sented than this.
25 June - 2 July 2011
A gorgeous apartment very well equipped and with comfortable chairs - much appreciated! We have eaten well locally and today we found The Red Lion at Mawnan Smith - delightful. Given the wonderful location we see ourselves returning again and again - Falmouth is a great 'hub' We have really appreciated the planning and thoughtful detail in this lovely place - many thanks.
P.S Enjoyed the DVDs
18 - 25 June 2011
This was our second visit to Puffins, and once again everything was 'just right'. We won't be back next year as we like to vary where we go, in fact Puffins is the only place we have returned to. However we are certainly not ruling it out in future.
11 - 18 June 2011
Falmouth is a lovely place - we've never been before. And we saw it all before us as we opened Puffins' door, with everything we needed to make our break complete. Except, perhaps, the weather and a spa bath for our feet! We didn't use the car much and walked for miles and miles. But to come back here to Puffins, couldn't help but raise our smiles. We loved Pendennis Castle and enjoyed the Museum too. With lots of trips out on the boats - and that never ending view! It's time to end our stay here and leave this Cornish Gem. You deserve your Gold Star rating, it really is 10 out of 10!
Thank you
4 - 11 June 2011
Thoroughly enjoyed our third stay here. The changing light over the harbour, especially in the mornings, and a full rainbow one evening whilst visiting The Star & Garter for our evening meal were especially wonderful.
Can recommend 'La Dolce Vita', 'Harbour View' (their sticky toffee pudding especially) 'Two Ten', 'Star & Garter' (on monday evening with jazz) and fish and chips in the restaurant at The Lizard.
The attention to detail in the flat much appreciated with welcome flowers, wine etc. Used the balcony at the beginning of the week but intermittent showers the last few days.
28 May - 4 June 2011
Attractive, compact and well equipped apartment. Love the view.
During our week in Falmouth we enjoyed:
* a really nice meal at The Hut restaurant
* excellent fish and chips at Harbour Lights
* walking on the Roseland Pennisula via ferries to St Mawes and then again to Place
* visiting Trelissick and Glendurgan Gardens
* a guided tour at Pendennis Castle
* Swanpool Beach Cafe
* wonderful vegetarian food at Pea Souk
* real ale and cider at The Front Pub
21 - 28 May 2011
We have had a great week at Puffins. The welcome pack was appreciated. Fantastic apartment in a fantastic location.
14 - 21 May 2011
We have just enjoyed a delightful week at Puffins. Thank you for the warm welcome, with the wine, flowers, tea and biscuits, which were much needed after the long day of travel!!
The flat is very clean and well equipped (love the Cappuchino maker). The wi-fi was great: it allowed us to keep in contact with our relatives in Canada. The view on a clear day is unrivalled - so nice.
The location of the flat is ideal for Falmouth and the surrounding areas in Cornwall. My mother & I particularly recommend Pendennis Castle (walking distance) and its Sister Castle, St Mawes (ferry ride across) as day trips. There are some excellent eateries close to Puffins. We found Rowes pastries & pasties to be particularly good. The Star & Garter has scrumptious food (Sunday roasts are yummy) and the fish and chips at Harbour Lights by the Discovery Quay are delicious. Thank you for sharing your incredible flat with us!
7 - 14 May 2011
After 3 days of flying from Australia it was truly wonderful to walk in and feel right at home with only a few food stuffs to buy. Well done and a heartfelt thank you for the warm welcome. Reading 'Du Maurier's Cornwall' was a delight as, being a English teacher, it was an interesting insight into her life. Travelling around the villages via the 'other roads' was great, despite the numerous 'back-ups' when meeting oncoming traffic. After the days outing it was always pleasurable to return to the warm, cosy environment of Puffins. Congratulations on the presentation of your property and your choice of position. It enables the traveller to access so much.
16 April - 7 May 2011
What a joy it was to walk into Puffins again and find it looking and feeling "like new" three years since we renovated, and more than 200 guests later!
Actually Puffins now feels better than new, with subtle improvements and the small, cherished gifts which have found their way in with stories attached. Our heartfelt appreciation to all our guests who have taken such good care of Puffins, and enormous thanks to Shelley, our housekeeper, who ensures that Puffins is as pristine and welcoming for all our guests as we find it ourselves. This has been a particularly enjoyable visit for us, with two sets of family – each with five members – and several friends coming down to Cornwall to visit with us over Easter. The weather was superb and we had a wonderful time visiting both old haunts and new (to us) venues.
One especially enjoyable experience was the gift of a few extra hours in St. Mawes on a perfect day with an exquisite lunch at the Hotel Tresanton with the author of a biography of my great uncle, the cricket player Tom Richardson, which will be published next year for the 100th anniversary of Tom's death. Those into cricket might know that Tom held the fast-bowling record for something like 97 years, and was certainly one of the most popular sportsmen of his day. Another wonderful experience was the boat trip up the river to Trelissick with family on Easter Day. And yet another was catching the 16 acres of bluebells in the ancient Enys Woods (a mere 10 minutes from Puffins) at their very peak.

Now that our first Guest Book is full, we welcome you to the second volume and look forward to your comments. The guest books are always well read (Shelley confesses she makes a bee-line for it when she first comes in for the changeover!) Your experiences with rest- aurants and places to visit are always well appreciated.
Mary Lynn & Geoff
9 - 16 April 2011
As the previous guests, the best equipped and detailed apartment we've stayed in. Mainly came to visit our son who's at University in Falmouth. Spent a few days on visits around the area. All in all a pleasant week.
2 - 9 April 2011
Probably the most thoughtfully equipped holiday cottage we've ever used - an excellent base for Falmouth and this part of Cornwall. And the weather has been even better, absolutely astonishing for April. We were less impressed with Olivers than most people seem to be. Every course followed the same pattern four (or so) variations on the same thing - so a duck main course is four variations of duck meat (with almost nothing else) and so on. We liked Pea Souke better, its vegetarian and tiny, but the food is tasty and interesting. Its in Well Lane off Church Street. Thank you Mary Lynn & Geoff.
26 March - 2 April 2011
Our second visit to Puffins and it was great to find everything as good as before. Weather not so good but really enjoyed this week. Caerhays garden was magnificent and the Maritime Museum is recommended for a rainy day! Thank you again for making this a comfortable and welcoming apartment.
7 - 12 March 2011
We could only have 5 days here in this lovely little apartment. Could have stayed forever! So well fitted out & the attention to detail is AWESOME!!! We are down here looking for our own place in Cornwall & if we could make it half as good as this - we'd have done well. Many thanks.
19 - 26 February 2011
The apartment has been fantastic and we have thoroughly enjoyed our visit. We hope to return soon. The Wheelhouse - 01326 318080 - is fantastic for seafood but needs booking as early as possible. We return to Falmouth often and so will book again.
12 - 19 February 2011
We spent a very enjoyable week at The Puffins. The weather was not perfect but we still enjoyed our second stay here. The welcome was brilliant: flowers, wine, chocs, tea and coffee, and fresh milk. As well, all the little goodies were above expectations. A perfect Valentine holiday spent in a perfect apartment.
9 - 12 February 2011
What a delightful, comfortable apartment to stay in, with lots of lovely touches. Shame it rained all three days though. I am sure the view would have been wonderful! I'll have to come back in the summer to appreciate it. Olivers Restaurant is lovely.
29 January - 1 February 2011
Fantastic, charming little apartment. Dedication to detail - detailed checkout instructions, perfectly maintained furnished apartment, all mod cons, immaculate housekeeping, perfect! Feels like a proper home! Had a good time here - took the ferry to St Mawes, visited Pendennis and St Mawes Castle, Trebah Gardens etc. The weather had been par- ticularly good considering that its the middle of winter - sunny spells on several days. Hope to come back some day.
25 - 29 January 2011
We had a lovely stay in Puffins. We visited the record office in Truro twice doing family history research and visited family in Falmouth and Par. Visited Da Vinci's for an excellent birthday celebration meal, (thank you for the bottle of wine!) Puffins was an excellent base for our stay & with all the comforts of home. Thank you.
28 December 2010 - 4 January 2011
We love Puffins. At our first step into Puffins, we were impressed with the welcome gifts, the sea view from the balcony, the well furnished flat and the flowers, not to mention the electronic candles. They are out of our expectations. We won't fall short in Puffins with all the appliances are ready to hand we can prepare meals and do some cleansing work. Its a wonderful journey in Falmouth, we visited the castle and The Eden Project. We also went to Truro, St Austel and St Ives. The beaches in St Ives are beautiful. We have tried pastries in the Presto and fish and chips in Rick Steins. They taste good. We hope it won't be too long to be here again, not until my son's finished his study in Falmouth. Thanks a lot! [Guests from Hong Kong]
24 - 28 December 2010
Had a lovely Christmas in Puffins. Superb [flat] with great views!! Brought back sailing memories, especially visiting The Pandora. Would love to return to Puffins in the summer months.
11 - 18 December 2010
Love Puffins. Week of contrast! Some great sunny days for walking and eating lunch outside in St Mawes to snow the end of the week. Spent far too much time watching the river go by and the boats! But that makes it very relaxing and a good place to chill! We will be back I'm sure. The new Rick Stein's good for eating and the Chain Locker, Pizza Express good for views!
29 November - 3 December 2010
Donny, Mal & Kodi have had a lovely restful time. Thanks for the wine for our Wedding Anniversary, it was lovely. Kodi thanks you for allowing him to stay, he slept at the bottom of the stairs and made no attempt to go upstairs or into the kitchen! He would have stayed on the patio forever! Thanks again.
16 - 30 October 2010
To Mary Lynn & Geoff,
There's not much more we can say about Puffins, you both know how much we enjoy our holidays here. My granddaughter Megan has been impressed with facility for her laptop and music. This is her first visit to Cornwall & I am sure she will be back. She loves your bed & the ever changing views from the window. A big thanks you for the little extras left for us. We both hope the weather is kind to you & you have an enjoyable stay in you lovely flat. Thanks again.
9 - 16 October 2010
Our first stay at The Puffins & will not be our last! We have been to Falmouth several times in the past & still think it is a fantastic place. Can't wait to come back to Falmouth & The Puffins. Thanks for a great holiday.
2 - 9 October 2010
Our second stay in Puffins and as expected. We just love the ambiance of the place. The weather sunny and warm and we leave here relaxed and happy. We will be back soon.
11 - 18 September 2010
Had a fantastic week staying at Puffins. We loved the apartment. The views are great, especially the sunrise watching it from the comfort of the lovely balcony. Falmouth is a great town with plenty to keep us occupied and entertained. The Chain Locker pub is worth a visit with spectacular views over the marina on a warm day. There are plenty of good days out. Visiting Land's End and Lizard Point is well worth it. We will visit Puffins again.
4 - 11 September 2010
A great stay - very comfortable. Star & Garter good fun - 2 10 Restaurant very good.
21 - 28 August 2010
We have had a brilliant week - thank you so much! What a lovely apartment - we really appreciated the 'extra touches' e.g extra light bulbs, cling film, t- towels, etc., etc.
Wonderful views!! Super area for coastal walks + generally exploring / sight seeing. Boat trip to Truro was really good. Lovely meals in 'The Prince Of Wales' + 'Chain Locker' - real 'character pubs' St Mawes ferry trip + Helford River Boat trip were also brilliant! We have enjoyed not having to drive very much this week! Thanks again for a fantastic holiday - we'll be back!!
14 - 21 August 2010
Our 7th visit to Falmouth in the last 6 years, but our first visit to Puffins and indeed our first visit to this end of town. The apartment was perfect. In addition to all the basics being right, so many small touches we've appreciated. Thank you for the welcome pack and flowers. The ever changing view from the terrace is a never ending joy. The Old High Street is an area full of quirky, individual shops and has something to suit all tastes: antiques to vintage clothes to books to food. Our own favourites here were Stones Bakery, Cafe Cinnamon and Jam - an individual music, film, book store and coffee shop that will interest you if you like music and film that's not main- stream. Oliver's has been mentioned elsewhere in this book and its easy to see why: a husband and wife team delivering high end restaurant experi- ence. You'll need to book to guarantee a table there though. Other restaurants I'd recom- mend are Sapphire (for those who know Falmouth, it used to be Bodens). Two Ten is also highly recommended by us, but hidden away as it has no frontage apart from a single door, so often missed. The Chain Locker is a Falmouth Institution and enjoying a drink outside watching the world go by is a must for one hour of your stay. Five Degrees West has not been mentioned here which is a surprise. A bar and grill with reasonably priced, but good food and a wide selection of wines and beers. You don't need to use your car here. We haven't used ours once. There is plenty to see and do locally and the numerous ferries are a great way to get around. The National Maritime Museum is a must visit, the castles at Pendennis and St. Mawes are also worth a visit. Others have mentioned the various attractions in the rest of Cornwall, which we'd also endorse (from previous trips) All in all another great holiday in Falmouth and we hope to return next year.
7 - 14 August 2010
Everything about this apartment is perfect. We have loved every moment of our stay during Falmouth Week, but especially being able to see the Red Arrows Display from the lovely patio and as a grand finale the firework display from the same fantastic view point - wonderful! We look forward to future visits at 'Puffins' Many Thanks.
31 July - 7 August 2010
Perfect! Can't think of anything needed to improve the accom-modation and/or setting. The welcome pack was most appreciated. Many thanks.
24 - 31 July 2010
Packet Quays, a place of    delights
Perfect location for exploring    the sights
Plenty of places to visit & see
For both of us, my partner    Mark and me
The view from the balcony is    absolutely stunning
Although the sea gulls are    noisy and quite cunning!
The coastline and boats and    sparkling water
Puffins apartment that you    just can't faulter
All in all our stay was divine
Even the weather managed to    stay fine
Thank you so much for letting    us stay
And we would love to return    sometime if we may?

P.S All the effort made to make the apartment comfortable & welcoming very much appreciated! x
17 - 24 July 2010
Had a great time here at Puffins, lovely apartment with great views. Food at Olivers fantastic. Had some great days out, went to Scilly Isles, Looe, Polperro & St. Ives.
10 - 17 July 2010
3rd return & it just gets better with new additions by Mary Lynn. Weather could have been better but at least the flowers appreciated the rain. As ever, many thanks for the spotless presentation & the welcome tray etc. Always a pleasure to return which will be soon.
26 June - 3 July 2010
What can I say the hasn't been said before? Simply the best apartment I have ever stayed in. Whoever looks after it is welcome to move into my house and sort it out! Had no desire to use the car until the last day here, being able to get around so easily on the water and buses, for once me being green, quite a result! Lots of good restaurants around. Had a great lobster night at Le Bistro, did Rick's fish and chips, but I think Clark's is a much better bet. If you like Indian, try the Ghurka in the square - a bit different to the normal curry. All in all a great time. Off to the Scillys now. I am sure I will do again.
19 - 26 June 2010
We have been to Cornwall on many occasions but this has been by far the best accommodation, location & weather! What a great apartment, and so clean. Thank you for the drinks for our arrival, very much appreciated. We have enjoyed relaxing on the patio, enjoying the view & plants, which have certainly needed plenty of water this week. Recommendations for other guests:
Porthcurnow + Minack Theatre and Godrevey on the north coast. Re previous comments last week about the builders: no noise at all & scaffolding now coming down. A very quiet location. Will be back. Thank you.
12 - 19 June 2010
Our very first holiday in Cornwall and WOW!
Top class apartment, perfectly compact with everything we could possibly need for a great week away. Stunning views but slightly disappointed when a band of builders moved in next-door-but-one and curtailed our breakfasts al fresco. This said, we came down on our motorcycle, so too much to see and do to hang around the apartment. Weather amazing so we've been to some fantastic places. Highly recommend visiting The Minack Theatre at Porthcurnow - stunning cliff side location; Eden Project - a photographers dream; Mousehole, Fowey and Mevagissey. A sail on the St. Mawes ferry is a must a complete chill out experience and we even witnessed a dolphin display there and back. Had lovely meals at The Hut, The Warehouse & Harbour Lights do fab fish 'n' chips either eat in or take away but WARNING.....those monster seagulls plan their attack with military precision and are relentless in their pursuit of your food!! All in all a fantastic week. Thanks Mary Lynn & Geoff.
5 - 12 June 2010
A great flat - lovely views and spotless. Enjoyed meals at the marina restaurant - bit of a walk but nice sitting in the sun watching the boats. Good places we stopped off at are Porthleven (nice harbour) and Mevagissy, both unspoiled places. Also The Lizard - lovely, and free!! Not like Land's End or St Ives, which we thought were over-priced and over-hyped and too commercial. Both castles here and at St Mawes are good, even just to walk to. Weather has been mixed, but lovely sitting on the balcony in the morning watching the boats.
29 May - 5 June 2010
The 'Perfect Pad'! We chose Puffins for the location, views and spec and it delivered us all three. Immaculately presented, clean & spotless and kitted out with everything we needed. Really appreciated the biscuits and pint of milk upon arrival. Great to have the iPod on whilst sunning ourselves on the balcony. The Tupperware boxes were used nearly everyday for picnics. Thoroughly recommend 'Olivers' Eatery just down the High Street on the left - wonderful food & great service! Completely disagree with a previous comment regarding expensive meals in Falmouth - we found all our meals reasonably priced - you get what you pay for! Caught the ferry to Truro, St. Mawes and Place-Roseland Walk - lovely!!
Tip for the coming guests: if considering a trip to St.Ives (beautiful beaches & very touristy) use the park and ride (catch the train not the bus) We made the mistake of trying to get a space in the carpark, failed miserably, and ended up back at the park and ride - having wasted an hour of our day. Weather has been great all week, however, we have struggled to make the most of it in the mornings as the bed is sooooo comfortable!! Wish we could take it back with us!! Thank you for sharing your wonderful apartment with us!

22 - 29 May 2010
It's easy to get around this corner of Cornwall without using your car. The buses and ferries are reliable, thereby saving you the hassle of driving and finding a parking space.   If you love gardens Glendurgan is spectacular, especially at this time of year: rhododendrons, bluebells and palm trees! And there is a little gem in St. Mawes: Lamorran Gardens, only open Wednesday and Fridays tho. For vegetarians, Da Vinci's has a reasonable selection of dishes which is unusual for Italian restaurants. And the Hut has a couple of tasty dishes too.

15 - 22 May 2010
Lovely restaurant on High Street, Olivers. Very good food, especially at lunch time.
17 - 24 April 2010
A week of wonderful sunshine. We have really enjoyed our stay in this comfortable apartment, very conveniently situated for visiting many lovely Cornish gardens. Managed to photograph some amazing sunrises. Worth getting up at 6:15! We really appreciated the 'welcome tray' and all the amenities in 'Puffins'. Thank you.
10 - 17 April 2010
This holiday was a treat for my 40th (gulp) birthday. A beautiful flat with every amenity imaginable. Lying in bed watching the sun rise and set was the best present possible. Enjoyed the boats and the castles, but most of all I enjoyed the all day bus passes that enabled me to crawl all over Cornwall. There is no better way to see the countryside and the coast from the top of a double decker bus. Could not have asked for better weather. I never expected to be sunburnt in England in April. Typically it is due to rain on the day I go home.
27 March - 3 April 2010
Weather mixed but a great flat to watch the world go by from. Comments - it's all been said before. Thanks and hope to come back some time.
20 - 27 March 2010
A wonderful holiday here in Falmouth again. We love your amazing flat - so well designed and presented. Unfortunately the weather prevented us from taking most of our meals out on to the terrace but the view is spectacular whatever the weather. A memorable week. Thank you.
13 - 20 March 2010
We are regular visitors to Falmouth, but previously with family - this is the first visit as a couple. Puffins has exceeded our expectations by miles - so, thank you for allowing us to share your lovely property. Quite fabulous. Comfy, cosy and still enjoying the advantages of Admirals Quay where we always stay anyway. We recommended The Hut as a good place to eat.
6 - 11 March 2010
Visiting our son in Falmouth, a lovely stay, unbelievably good weather! Really enjoyed reading everyone's com-ments. Agree it is a delightful 'pad; waking up to that view bathed in sunshine after the long cold winter has been a tonic. The flat is so 'perfectly framed' & agree with all who've gone before us
27 February - 6 March 2010
In Falmouth for one week visiting my daughter in her final year at University having staying in Puffins 2 years ago and completely fallen in love with the location. I have now even more affection for this beautiful apartment. The transformation brought about by Mary Lynn is remarkable and extremely skilled and her attention to detail is nothing less than perfect. Tranquil hideaway in the centre of town has made my week restorative and very special. Thank you for sharing this gorgeous place with me. New visitors to Falmouth should make sure they include a visit to the Maritime Museum in their itinerary and the Chain Locker pub is an absolute must for good food and even better beer. I recommend the Sharps Special. The Thai Orchard served us an excellent meal this week as did Da Vinci's. I recommend them both. I loved my week here and will be back ...
13 - 20 February 2010
Once again we have had a lovely week. It feels just like home when we arrive here. The weather has been kind to us, enabling us to spend time at Swanpool and Trebah with our grandson,George; he had great pleasure in showing us how he could ride his new bike from Santa. It is lovely to visit the family in Mylor Bridge. My four grandsons seem to grow so from one visit to the next. Hopefully we will return in the autumn. Thanks once again for the little extras. They make our stay special.
30 January - 9 February 2010
This is a perfect location for us, being equidistant from the town center and the boat yard, where we are wintering our boat. The apartment is very well equipped with attention to detail really appreciated - especially the extremely comfortable sleeping arrangements. We have thoroughly enjoyed our 10 day stay, relaxing, reading, visiting the boat and getting to know more of this lovely corner of Cornwall. We'll be back in these parts 'drekly'
29 December 2009 - 2 January 2010
A very late booking. Really appreciated comprehensive details about access and facilities at Puffins. Fantastic views, especially from the bed. Very well equipped. Fortunate with the weather, sunny days ideal for crossing to St.Mawes and visiting Kynance Cove, although temperatures reached -4 degrees at night. Thanks for sharing Puffins with us.
5 - 12 December 2009
A truly memorable week in this beautiful apartment. It was beyond our expectations and has everything needed for a comfortable stay. Thank you for a hassle free experience at Puffins.
31 October - 7 November 2009
A really lovely apartment. When we first say "Puffins" on the internet we were impressed. On arrival it even exceeded our expectations. Mary Lynn and Geoff have created a real gem. Clearly a lot of thought and creativity has gone into making "Puffins" a wonderful holiday home. It was a pleasure for us to spend some time here and hopefully we'll be back next year. Thank you for the tea and coffee on arrival and for the folders explaining how all of the appliances operate, etc. Not a stone has been left un-turned in ensuring guest comfort.
17 - 24 October 2009
Second visit this year, this time with a little better weather. Flat is so comfortable and convenient for mooching around Falmouth and is also very warm and cosy. Many thanks for lovely condition of flat and for tea tray, etc.
10 - 17 October 2009
Many thanks for welcoming tea tray of goodies as well as a fresh bouquet of roses. Apartment has all the comforts of home as well as amazing view. One amazing sunrise best viewed upstairs thru the mirror. The all important weather has been mostly warm and sunny.
3 - 10 October 2009
Thanks again for the use of your lovely flat. We felt so at home when we arrived this time. We spent a lot of the week with the family and had a few trips out as well. Hope to be back in the Spring.
5 - 12 September 2009
Had a brilliant time. Apartment was still lovely as ever. Second half of the week weather has been great. The Hut is a brilliant place to eat - nicest steak in the world - and the Noodle Bar is definitely worth a visit too. Until next year.
28 August - 5 September 2009
A perfect apartment. Every detail taken care of - there's no doubting the care that has gone into each aspect of this Falmouth pad. Would recommend 'The Hut' restaurant in town - fantastic food at a great price. 'Harbour Lights' for the best fish n chips in town. We'll be back, hopefully to a drier Falmouth next time. p.s. Bistro de la Mer is well worth a meal - highly recommend the tiger prawns.
22 - 29 August 2009
We are delighted with the apartment and the attention to detail, very comfortable. Enjoyed a day at Newton Abbott racecourse. Also did a few trips to St Mawes, Lands End and St Ives. Sampled one of the local delicacies in St Ives, Cornish pastie, and was attacked by a seagull. Must be their favourite food. We would definitely recommend the Boat House for drinks as it has fantastic views, the pear cider is also very nice. Thank you for the use of you apartment and we will definitely come back.
15 - 22 August 2009
What a lovely apartment. Very comfortable and everything we needed. The little notes for switches, etc. were very useful. We have had really nice weather this week and have done loads. St. Ives is lovely, lots of hills and narrow lanes. Lots of arty and crafty shops. Saw 2 seals really close to the beach. Spent the day with a picnic on Maenporth Beach. Visited the Lizard and walked along the coastal path. Amazing views. Went to Kynance Cove, the tide was in, but another amazing view point. Have done an historical walk around Falmouth. Came down Jacobs Ladder - up looked hard work - and visited Glendurgan Gardens. The flat is in the perfect location for the town with it's shops and restaurants and also for getting around and visiting places. Thank you for giving us the chance to use it.
8 - 15 August 2009
Had a lovely week. Weather on and off but so much to see and do it didn't matter. Apartment is great with so many extras and great views. The Red Arrows were absolutely amazing. Will definitely come back.
1 - 8 August 2009
Loved our stay at Puffins. Everything about the apartment was perfect particularly the welcome tea and biscuits, just what we needed after a long drive. Have much enjoyed sitting on the patio particularly in the glorious early morning sunshine. Would highly recommend the boat trip up the Fal and Helford rivers. The Star and Garter next door provides the most delicious pub food. Thank you for a lovely stay in Falmouth. We hope to be back soon.
25 July - 1 August 2009
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Falmouth is a very good base for exploring this part of Cornwall and Puffins is a lovely base in Falmouth. The weather prevented us from sitting out on the deck, but the view from the bed was probably even better.
11 - 18 July 2009
Ditto for all previous good reviews. Everything thought out to 17th degree. Everything professionally finished. Week of mainly wet weather but still enjoyed Cornwall in all it's moods. Train trip to St.Ives is lovely day out. Hope to return.
4 - 11 July 2009
Wow! The apartment is great. You've thought of everything. Had good weather most of the week, enjoyed boat trip to St Mawes. My only complaint was that we found it expensive to eat out. On saying that, would love to return. By far the best place we have stayed at.
PS The directions to your apartment were great, thanks.
27 June - 4 July 2009
Had a wonderful week (only one wet day). Would recommend visits to St. Mawes and also St. Michaels Mount (lovely beach at Marazion). The Boathouse (up hill opposite) is lively and friendly pub - but there are many others with good food in Falmouth. Enjoyed the views and grateful for milk, etc on arrival. Thank you.
20 - 27 June 2009
We've had a wonderful holiday here in your apartment. Everything has been perfect (even the weather). The location was even better than expected. The view is spectacular and always something to watch. There are so many different restaurants to try, I didn't bother to cook at all. We loved Harbour View (wonderful steak), Clarks (lovely belly pork special), Cribbs (Jerk chicken & banana). Listen to blues guitar with cocktails in the Tap Room. Used the ferry across and had stunning walk from Flushing along the coast. Not too far to drive to Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan which we did in a day. Both worth a visit. If time, Kynance Cove is the most wonderful beach, only small, but wonderful rocks - quite stunning I thought, but have to check the tides. Loved the apartment. The huge window is lovely. The mirrors reflect the view beautifully. The decking and flowers made us feel really at home. Many thanks for sharing.
6 - 13 June 2009
We discovered Puffins on an internet search and wow what a discovery. Your own web site gave such a detailed description that when we arrived we thought we had been here before. The lovely flowers and welcome tray were much appreciated. The apartment is excellent with great thought having been given to individual elements so that they come together cleverly in a wonderful design. We particularly loved the panel of themed maritime paintings on the large wall. The view through the cathedral style window is stunning. All we can say is a Thank You for making your apartment available for guests to enjoy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are happy to recommend Puffins to others. Harveys Wharf by the Maritime Museum has an excellent daily menu and we would suggest other visitors might like to try it.
30 May - 6 June 2009
Really enjoyed our sunny week at Puffins. Lovely accommodation, view and great location. Appreciated flowers on arrival and beautiful bed linen. Super terrace, watered plants several times.
23 - 30 May 2009
Our umpteenth stay with Cornish Holiday Cottages. One which we have thoroughly enjoyed. Thank you.
16 - 23 May 2009
Wonderful location. Smashing to look out on estuary in the mornings.
The Star and Garter has good entertainment especially on Mondays. The Lizard is a great spot, so is Mevagissey. Leisure Centre lovely if you want to swim. Weather has been great, blue skies, sunny and quite warm at times. Apartment is lovely. Thanks.
9 - 16 May 2009
Have thoroughly enjoyed our week at Puffins. Everything here for our needs. Love the airiness of the apartment. Unfortunately weather not good enough to take advantage of the patio, but plants are thriving with all the rain. We will certainly be back as it is such a convenient location. Many thanks.
2 - 9 May 2009
Great base to enjoy Cornwall from, particularly the gardens, Heligan, Trevano, etc. and the Maritime Museum.
18 - 25 April 2009
We've had a lovely week. The weather has been warm and sunny during the day but chilly in the evening. Falmouth certainly lives up to our last visit. Everything you want and more. Catching the train from Lelant to St.Ives is a treat. Noisy seagulls add to the atmosphere. Flat comfortable with everything you need. Truly a home from home.
11 - 18 April 2009
As the owners we want to thank all our guests who have taken such marvellous care of Puffins - we are so glad you have enjoyed Puffins and Falmouth. The High Street face of the building was being painted while we were in residence and should be looking its best as soon as the scaffolding is down.
We had a busy week visiting family and friends in the Falmouth area, and enlisting the help of several of our craftsmen who worked on last year's renovations to ensure everything is ready for the solid bookings this summer. And we replaced the flowers we had put in for the winter with flowers we hope will give a splash of colour for the summer. We look forward to returning for two weeks in September - and hope to have time then to follow up on many of the suggestions our guests have provided.
4 - 11 April 2009
Indeed an excellent base for a visit to W. Cornwall: comfortable and well-
equipped flat with light & views; Falmouth also an attractive town and base. And the Star & Garter next door is a great pub; has ale, excellent food and good live music, especially the jazz ... Great to have wi-fi and internet access to keep in touch with home and even the office!
28 March - 3 April 2009
We've had a lovely week here - flat has everything we want plus the view! Weather has improved daily. We're sorry to leave a day early but visiting a relative in Wiltshire on the way home. Pity our week coincided with maintenance, but has to be done - hope to return.
21 - 28 March 2009
We have really enjoyed our week in this comfortable flat. The decor and views are excellent. We have been able to spend lots of time with our son and his family in Mylor. Thanks again for everything. We hope to come back soon.
16 - 20 March 2009
We had a lovely week, the weather was fab! The walk along Castle beach to Swanpool is worth it with a cup of tea and toast on the way back. Beautiful views and sea air. The apartment is great for two. Had a great time at Trebah Gardens 20 mins on the T4 bus departs from the Moor. Admission half price if you show the bus ticket. Thank you for the chance to stay at this lovely place.
7 - 14 March 2009
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Puffins. Lovely apartment with plenty of attention to detail. Views were lovely. Had some great walking and Puffins is in a fab spot for Falmouth pubs and restaurants.
19 - 28 February 2009
Absolutely right for a few days in Falmouth - lovely views. Only problem was the price of eating out in Falmouth - exuberant to say the least. We travel a lot and can eat better and cheaper in London W1 or Paris. But we have enjoyed ourselves.
23 December 2008 - 3 January 2009
What a lovely place - every mod con, beautifully designed and such a lovely location for a New Year break.
Fantastic attention to detail - thank you very much !
8 - 10 November 2008
Despite the weather thoroughly enjoyed the grandstand view of Falmouth Harbour and extremely well fitted out accommodation.
13 - 27 September 2008
A very enjoyable holiday in a comfortable flat with fantastic views; even the weather has been lovely! Thoroughly recommend the ferries to St. Mawes & Truro and the local trip up the Helford River.
6 - 13 September 2008
(Our thanks to Roy & Betty Brotherton for photos taken from Puffins during Tall Ships week. We've included two of them in the slideshow.)
We had a wonderful week at Puffins. Hope to visit again sometime in the future. We loved the decor ... it is so "altogether". [On Saturday] we took up our position along the Falmouth beaches directly from leaving Puffins at 0915hrs. By 1300hrs the entire population of Falmouth was either at some vantage point on land, or in a boat at sea. It was almost total gridlock -- just incredible.
30 August - 6 September 2008
Lovely apartment - beautiful views - very enjoyable & relaxing holiday.
23 - 30 August 2008
We've had a great time staying at Puffins - what a lovely place. Beautiful views and a great location. We have enjoyed walking into town, taking the ferry to St. Mawes and Flushing. It's been nice not have have to rely on the car all the time. Thank you for a lovely holiday.
9 - 16 August 2008
We've had a brilliant time. It's been 15 years since our last visit so we spent much time searching out old haunts. We love your place - tasteful decor and beautiful views across the water and, close proximity to town - the perfect place to relax. I'm sure will be back again. Thanks.
PS Love the art work.
2 - 9 August 2008
We have enjoyed a lovely relaxing week here at Puffins. The flat is very nice and just what we were looking for. Falmouth is a lovely town with some excellent restaurants. Shame it rained for the first four days - that is the English Weather for you!
5 - 12 July 2008
Hope to return next year for 2 weeks.  Enjoyable despite the weather.  Flat lovely and well equipped.
P.S.  Will always remember talking to the Prince of Wales on the Pier!!
28 June - 7 July 2008
Love what you have done with Puffins.  The apartment captured our hearts when we came 4 yrs ago.  The modifications are perfect with all the equipment we could need.  Can't fault the little extras like flowers, tea and coffee etc. which made us feel at home straight away.  Hope you have some very happy stays here - delighted to hear there will still be some times when Puffins will be available to rent.  Lots of sunshine too!

31 May - 7 June 2008
Our second visit to this flat and a big improvement in the decor and facilities. This made for a very comfortable holiday.  Weather was reasonably kind to us only raining one night.  Pity about the scaffolding which restricted our use of the balcony, although not much work being done by painters.  Thank you for a lovely holiday.

(NOTE: Scaffolding removed shortly after this visit.)

17 - 24 May 2008
Very much enjoyed our stay at Puffins. Weather has been lovely and our visit to local N.T. Gardens and to St.Mawes via ferry all came up to expectations.  The apartment standard is very high with everything needed.  Nice personal touch with flowers, biscuits etc.  We hope to come this way for another holiday.
